A dress designer has revealed how she designed the perfect dress for her bridal party.
Carolee Lee made a bold choice with her wedding gown, but not all bridesmaids would be happy with the results.
The designer said she decided to go with a modern twist for the wedding and went with a traditional dress, which she said was “designed to be a little more traditional and more casual”.
“I didn’t want to have too much of a classic look,” Ms Lee said.
“I wanted to have a modern look and the dress was designed for me.”
It was a little bit more modern than I thought it would be.
“We went for a modern silhouette and it was a bit more laid back.”
Ms Lee said she was looking for a dress with a vintage feel and a modern take on classic dresses, which meant she opted for a lace and lace-up look.
“The lace was a big deal for me,” she said.
She said she felt it fit the bride well and was a perfect match.
“There was a point where the bride was wearing a dress that had a little hint of lace, so it looked very formal,” she explained.
“When we were planning it, we wanted the bride to wear a dress like that.”
Ms Lees wedding dress cost $50,000.
The dress cost more than $40,000, which Ms Lee has been able to recoup.
“She wanted to go for a more formal dress,” she told the ABC.
“That was a very big deal to me.”
She has been told her dress was “the best dress” she had ever purchased.
